HOLLAND, Mich. — After a nationwide search, Holland Christian High School has welcomed their new principal.
Deb Feenstra comes to HCHS from 'next door' after serving as the interim principal at Holland Christian Middle School.
She spent 30 years as a teacher and administrator with Holland Public Schools and also worked as a missionary for six years in Mexico with the Reformed Church in America.
"The ability to live into the Biblical narrative here at Holland Christian in this part of my life is huge," she said in a press release. "I believe in the mission of this place, this team, and to be a part of that mission to transform the world for Jesus Christ, and provide quality education, not just one or the other—and having been on the mission field—just was one of those 'God-things!'"
Feenstra's daughter, who was born with special abilities and needs, also graduated from the ESS program at HCHS.
Holland Christian Schools is also welcoming on Dr. James Bultman, who served as the 11th President of Hope College for 14 years, as their interim superintendent.
"I have great affection for Holland Christian Schools—our children went here, and it just seemed like the right thing to do," Bultman said. "I look forward to partnering with the Holland Christian family in providing the very best possible education for the 1800 students entrusted to our care."
