Ottawa County Sheriff's deputies respond to well-being check, find 2 dead in home

Deputies were sent to the home for a well-being check after the caller made concerning comments and a possible gunshot was heard.

OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — Two people were found dead on Saturday after the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office was called to a Grand Haven Township home for a well-being check. 

According to OCSO, around 9 a.m. deputies responded to a home in the 14900 block of 178th Avenue for a well-being check after the caller made concerning comments and a possible gunshot was heard. 

When deputies arrived, they secured the area and said communication was attempted, but not successful. 

The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office Critical Response Team responded to the incident and was able to get into the home, where they found a man and a woman dead inside. 

OCSO said at this time, there's no threat to the public, but it is an active investigation.
