CLIMAX, Mich. — A Climax man accused of killing his girlfriend and a dog over the weekend is being charged with murder, according to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office.
Adam Lyons, 31, is accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend of a few months, 41-year-old Nicole Doerschler of Climax. KCSO said the shooting happened in their home on Saturday night.
According to deputies, around 10 p.m., KCSO was dispatched to the 100 block of N Main Street where they found a woman and dog dead.
Deputies said Lyons is charged with open murder, a felony firearm charge and killing/torturing animals in the third degree.
KCSO said his bond was denied on all counts.
Lyons is scheduled for a probable cause conference on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 8:30 a.m.
