Victim identified as 26-year-old in Grand Rapids homicide

A body was found along Plaster Creek last week. The man's death has now been ruled a homicide.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Grand Rapids Police Department has identified a body found along Plaster Creek on Dec. 16.

Around 10:40 a.m. officers were called to Roosevelt Park on Godfrey Avenue SW and found a dead man along the waterway, police said. 

The medical examiner has now ruled this death a homicide. The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Pacifique Uwimana.

Anyone with information is asked to contact GRPD or Silent Observer.
