Grand Rapids woman's death considered suspected overdose now being investigated as homicide

According to the Grand Rapids Police Department, after the Kent County Medical Examiner completed the autopsy her death was ruled a homicide.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — On Dec. 27 Grand Rapids police found a woman who they suspected died due to an overdose. Following her autopsy, her death has been ruled a homicide. 

Around 3 a.m., officers said they responded to the 1000 block of College Avenue NE for an initial report of a medical call for someone with a head injury. 

When officers arrived at the scene, they found that a male victim was stabbed, and they took a male suspect into custody. 

While the officers were on the scene, they also found two victims of a suspected overdose, one man and one woman. The man was taken to the hospital, and the woman, 53-year-old Yushonda Noble, died at the scene, officers said. 

According to the Grand Rapids Police Department, after the Kent County Medical Examiner completed Noble's autopsy, her death was ruled a homicide. 

The department said as of the last report, both the victim of the stabbing and the man who suffered a suspected overdose are in stable condition. 

The incident is currently under investigation.
