Grand Rapids Police Department investigating homicide

Police said the victim died at the hospital and after the autopsy, the death was ruled a homicide by the Kent County Medical Examiner.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Grand Rapids Police Department is investigating a homicide that happened on Thursday night. 

According to GRPD, around 8:15 p.m. police were called to a local hospital. 

Officers said a Grand Rapids man was brought to the hospital by private transport with life-threatening injuries. Police said the wounds were consistent with an assault. 

GRPD said the victim died at the hospital and after the autopsy, the death was ruled a homicide by the Kent County Medical Examiner. 

Police said further details are limited. 

GRPD said the Major Case Team is investigating the homicide.
