Kalamazoo Dept. of Public Safety investigating after shooting leaves 1 injured

According to police, the department is working to follow up on leads for the suspect, who fled the scene when the incident happened.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is investigating after a man was injured in a shooting early Sunday morning. 

According to KDPS, around 2:30 a.m. officers responded to reports of a shooting following an argument between two people. 

Police said the shooting happened in the 500 block of N Rose Street near MLK Park. 

KDPS said the man who was shot was treated at a local hospital and discharged. 

According to police, the department is working to follow up on leads for the suspect, who fled the scene when the incident happened. 

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Criminal Investigation Division at (269) 337-8139 to speak with a detective.
