KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS) received reports of there being an injured 1-year-old at a local hospital due to an "apparent abuse incident" around 5 a.m. Saturday.
According to KDPS, the incident took place in the 3300 block of Michigamme Woods Drive. The child has significant trauma and is currently in critical condition.
As of Sunday, KDPS has located and made contact with both of the persons of interest—32-year-old Tyrone Sheppard and 31-year-old Tiffany Moore, both of Kalamazoo. The two were identified by KDPS as the adults who were with the child at the time of the incident.
KDPS also found and impounded the vehicle of interest, a grey Dodge Ram Pickup Truck with a dealer plate of "055 D 157."
