GRAND HAVEN, Mich. — Two people were found dead on Saturday after the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office was called to a Grand Haven Township home for a well-being check.

Officials now believe the deaths were a murder-suicide.

Around 9 a.m., officials were called by a person inside a home in the 14900 block of 178th Avenue. Deputies say they were worried about the well-being of the caller.

A gunshot was heard by dispatchers during the 911 call.

When deputies arrived, they secured the area and said communication was attempted, but not successful. That's when they entered the home.

Deputies found a man and a woman, who were both 80 years old and lived at the home, dead from gunshot wounds.

Investigators say the incident remains under investigation. If you have any information, you're asked to contact the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office or Silent Observer at 1-877-88-SILENT (745368) or mosotips.com.
