School employee charged with creating fake account to get illicit images of his students

Investigators say the man, an auditorium technician, created fake social media accounts to contact female students to request and pay for the illicit images.

ROCKFORD, Mich. — A man who worked in a Kent County school is facing multiple charges after an arrest Monday, the Sheriff's Office says.

Deputies say a 20-year-old Rockford man is charged with child sexually abusive activity and using a computer to commit a crime. 

The investigation began after a Cedar Springs school resource officer was notified that the man had illicit images of students. 

The man worked as an Auditorium Technician in the Cedar Springs school system.

Investigators say he created fake social media accounts to contact female students to request and pay for the illicit images.
