Morning & My West Michigan Anchor / Try It Before You Buy It Reporter
Lauren Stanton joined WZZM 13 in the Spring of 2000. Lauren anchors the morning news with Dan Harland, Monday through Friday, and also anchors My West Michigan weekdays at 9 a.m. You can also see Lauren with her Try It Before You Buy It reports.
Lauren is a native of Michigan. She grew up in Byron, Michigan, which is a small town between Lansing and Flint. She graduated from Central Michigan University in 1997, with a B.A.A. in Broadcast and Cinematic Arts and Interpersonal and Public Communications. Lauren is a proud CMU alum, and was honored by the university as its Outstanding Young Alumni in 2002, and served several years on the Alumni Advisory Board for the School of Broadcast and Cinematic Arts.
Lauren started her career in Lansing, Michigan where she worked at both the CBS and ABC affiliates. Lauren won an Associated Press award for Best Hard News while at ABC 53 in Lansing. A special on her Try It Before You Buy It consumer reports also won an award by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters.
When Lauren isn't working, she enjoys spending time with her two boys and has coached both their basketball and soccer teams. She loves spending time on Lake Michigan and all things "Pure Michigan". She's a big Detroit Tigers fan, a miserable Detroit Lions fan, and loves Kid Rock.
Lauren volunteers with the non-profit organization, More-Self-Less,www.moreselfless.org which puts on a Christmas celebration for kids in West Michigan every year.
