OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — One person was arrested early Saturday morning for unrelated charges when a call for shots fired turned into a police chase.

According to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to the area of North Division and Ottawa Beach Road around 3 a.m. based on a report of shots fired in the area. The caller said she heard several shots fired before hearing engines and squealing tires.

Deputies said when they arrived on the scene they found two adult men leaving on mini bikes. The men fled on the bikes and refused to stop, responders said.

The bikes split up and one rider eventually stopped. He was taken into custody for charges that weren't related to the shots fired call, deputies said.

The other rider was not caught, and deputies said they currently don't know where he is.

Deputies said there was no evidence at the scene to suggest there were any shots fired, and no additional reports of gunshots were made at the location.
