ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. — One person is dead and four others are injured after a crash in Fillmore Township on Sunday afternoon, according to the Allegan County Sheriff's Office.

ACSO said around 1 p.m. dispatch received a call about a serious crash that happened at the intersection of 136th Avenue and 58th Street in Fillmore Township.

The preliminary investigation showed that a sedan traveling westbound on 136th Avenue didn't stop for the stop sign at 58th Street and was hit by a pickup truck traveling northbound on 58th Street.

ACSO said the intersection is a two-way stop for traffic on 136th Avenue and cars traveling on 58th Street have the right of way.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured, deputies said.

According to ACSO, there were five people in the sedan, three of which were children. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and the other four passengers were taken to a local hospital with serious and life-threatening injuries.

Deputies said the road was closed but has since been reopened.

The crash remains under investigation by the Allegan County Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Team.
