KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A man is dead after a pickup truck rear-ended a go-kart in Kalamazoo, the Sheriff's Office says.

The crash happened in the 8900 block of East Michigan Avenue around 9:19 p.m. Monday night.

Police say a go-kart was driving west on East Michigan with no lights. A GMC 1500 pickup truck rear-ended the go-kart, sending it into the eastbound lane, where the driver was then hit by a Dodge Journey.

The go-kart driver died at the scene. Deputies said the person was a 48-year-old from Galesburg. Their name is being withheld at this time.
