CALEDONIA TOWNSHIP, Mich — One person is dead and another critically hurt after a crash with a semi truck early Thursday morning, Michigan State Police say.
The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. at Cherry Valley and 100th in Caledonia Township.
Police say a semi was heading north on Cherry Valley when a car crossed the centerline and hit the semi.
The car's driver was declared dead at the scene. The passenger was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition, officers say.
The semi driver is uninjured.
The road is closed for investigation, as well as to clean up a fuel spill. An environmental team has been called in to address the situation. Police say to find an alternate route.
