New threat called in to Forest Hills Northern High School results in arrest of 14-year-old

KCSO said a 14-year-old Forest Hills Northern student was taken into custody at the Kent County Juvenile Detention Center for filing a false report of terrorism.

GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 14-year-old was arrested for calling in a new threat to Forest Hills Northern High School Thursday, according to the Kent County Sheriff's Office. 

Deputies said on Thursday morning the high school received a threat over the phone. 

KCSO's School Resource Officers and Detectives responded to the threat and began to investigate. 

According to deputies, a suspect was quickly identified and interviewed. 

KCSO said a 14-year-old Forest Hills Northern student was taken into custody at the Kent County Juvenile Detention Center for filing a false report of terrorism. 

Deputies said there was no threat to the school or its students. 

The arrest comes just one day after Forest Hills Northern High School was closed due to different threats being investigated.
