BENTON HARBOR, Mich. — There were no injuries following a structure fire in Benton Harbor Sunday morning, the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety (BHDPS) said.

BHDPS, Benton Charter Township Fire Department and the St. Joseph Department of Public Safety responded to the call of a structure fire at a vacant G&G Grocery Store at 861 Buss around 6:40 a.m.

Firefighters prioritized defending nearby homes, but two homes, a garage and a car had exterior damage from the flames, authorities said. No damage was reported inside the neighboring structures.

BDHPS used a thermal imaging drone to help identify hot spots from the fire.

The fire remains under investigation but there appears to no indication that the fire was set intentionally.
