COOPERSVILLE, Mich. — A 6-year-old is recovering after being hit by a vehicle in a Coopersville parking lot on Tuesday.
Deputies say it happened around 7 p.m. at the Rodeway Inn on O'Malley Drive. A 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 44-year-old Saginaw man, had been traveling at a suitable speed for the parking lot when the incident happened, deputies say.
A 6-year-old boy had been learning how to ride an electronic hoverboard with his older brother when he darted out between parked vehicles and went under the Silverado. Deputies say he was hit by a back tire.
The boy was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He is currently listed in stable condition, deputies say.
