GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Usually around this time, Andrea Arnold has her pine trees decorated with Christmas lights.
"It's just happy, It's joyful," said Arnold. "The red and white lights, this big ball of lights that I put on all of the trees, it's just magical."
However, Arnold is dealing with a Grinch.
On Tuesday morning, Arnold says someone took a saw and chopped down her seven-foot Concolor fir.
"I walked out to retrieve my trashcan and something caught my eye and I looked over and realized that, oh my gosh, someone chopped down my tree."
The view is blocked by a large tree in between her home and the road. The only thing that remains of the tree that's also a popular Christmas tree, is a stump and some branches.
"I just can't believe somebody would violate my sanctuary," said Arnold. "This is my domain that they would do something like that. It hurts, it really hurts. I'm not even angry anymore, it's hurtful."
So hurtful, Arnold said she's not planning on decorating this year.
"I have no desire whatsoever to put lights or anything up," said Arnold. "Like I am done, it killed Christmas for me. It really did."
She has filed a police report with the Kent County Sheriff's Office, but said the damage has already been done. It will be dead by the end of the month if it is being used as a Christmas tree.
She has a message for the Grinch that stole her Christmas.
"I hope you enjoy my tree," said Arnold. "I hope it fuels your soul this winter, Christmas, because you ruined mine."
