GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) is involving the community in a sweet way this summer.

AARP's Social Socials hosted in Grand Rapids are events that combine an ice cream social with a Social Security Q&A event.

The first event will be held on July 1 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Roberto Clemente Park pavilion. Registration for this event can be found here using your AARP login.

The second event will be held on August 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Aberdeen Park pavilion. Registration for this event can be found here using your AARP login.

AARP said the events offer "the perfect blend of indulgence and insight."

There will be AARP experts at the event ready to answer questions about Social Security benefits, eligibility and the application process. The ice cream will be free to enjoy.
