Friday should be a great day weather wise to test out the brand new splash pad at Aberdeen Park!
The Michigan-themed splash pad is just one of the new features at the park which is reopening Friday, May 25 at 10 a.m.
There are also new benches at the park, as well as accessibility upgrades and improvements to the restrooms.
The improvements were made possible when Grand Rapids voters in 2013 approved a seven year millage for park improvements. The city has made improvements to more than 16 parks since 2015.
All other Grand Rapids Parks splash pads are set to open in early June.
