ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. — A bicyclist was killed Thursday night after being hit by a car in Allegan County.
Deputies say the crash happened around 10:15 p.m. on 111th Avenue in Lee Township. An SUV had been traveling eastbound when it hit a bicyclist, according to deputies. The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
No one inside the car was injured.
The driver of the SUV was arrested and taken to the Allegan County Jail, where they are facing charges in connection to the crash.
Alcohol and speed are believed to be contributing factors, deputies say.
The name of the victim and the driver will not be released at this time.
