ADA, Mich. — In a warehouse on Amway's massive Ada campus sits dozens and dozens of toys among Amway's typical assortment of products being ready to distributed.
Those are Toys for Tots toys, ready to be distributed this December.
Last year, Toys for Tots lost the ability to use their previous storage location. After putting feelers out, organization leaders say Amway stepped up to help.
"They take care of our trash for us, recycling our boxes, they bring our toys for us that come in through the doors that people leave here, that isn't brought in through us or our drivers," said Liz Gromko, the Toys for Tots Coordinator for Kent County. "It's been amazing."
Amway's Supervisor of Corporate Social Responsibility Lindsey Tilly says not only are they allowing Toys for Tots to use the space, they're also providing Amway employees to volunteer for their distribution organization.
Tilly says more than 100 employees will help the week before Christmas organize the toys before they're distributed.
We want to see all members of our community here in west Michigan really finding their place and finding ways to thrive, and we do that through a lot of partnerships," said Tilly. "When we see opportunities to partner directly with an organization like Toys for Tots, it's a great way for us to connect, to leverage some of the resources we have here at Amway, and to also leverage the incredible employees that we have here at Amway."
