BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — A high school student accused of threatening to bring weapons to class and harm others is now in custody, Battle Creek Police said Thursday.
Around 7 p.m. Wednesday, authorities got a tip through Silent Observer and Battle Creek Central High School that a high school student had threatened to bring a handgun and a rifle to the school to shoot students.
Detectives looked into the allegations and took a Battle Creek Central High School student into custody.
That student is now at an area juvenile detention facility, authorities said.
The police department continues to investigate the case.
