BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — UPDATE: 56-year-old Brian Duane Piper was found safe around 8 p.m. on Monday. He was found on M-37 in Bedford Village. Authorities said he is now safe and at home with his family. The original story follows:
Law enforcement in Battle Creek needs your help finding a man who went missing Sunday morning.
Authorities said 56-year-old Brian Duane Piper was last seen at his home on Sigel Avenue around 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 6.
Police described him as a vulnerable adult due to his medical needs, which include a seizure disorder. Authorities also said he has schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
Piper is shy and reclusive, and typically only speaks if spoken to, authorities said.
Because of his medication, he has a cognitive delay that is similar to those who have dementia, police said.
