LANSING, Mich. — Saugatuck Brewing Company (SBC) is teaming up with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) during trout season to raise awareness of, and funds for, habitat restoration initiatives across the state.
Throughout Michigan's trout fishing season, spanning from May to October, for every case of SBC's Rainbow Rodeo IPA purchased the company will donate to the DNR.
The donations will help to fund the DNR's efforts to protect and restore habitats the fish and wildlife need to thrive in the state's most popular fishing sites.
"I firmly believe that by working together, we can preserve and protect Michigan's natural treasures for generations to come,” said Scott Bowen, Director of the Michigan DNR. "This work isn't just a job; it's a responsibility we owe to our children and grandchildren. Every action we take today shapes the future of our environment, the outdoor-based recreation Michigan is known for, and the places we love."
Donations will also be put towards work to benefit Michigan's waters and anglers by battling invasive species, helping to foster the growth of fish populations and ensuring sustainable fishing.
“We are beyond excited about joining the DNR in finding new ways to help solve old problems,” added Saugatuck Brewing Company CEO John Miller. “As a ‘lifestyle brand’ focusing attention and resources to help participate in projects like this is at the center of our values and a perfect fit for the brand Rainbow Rodeo to lead.”
