ADA, Michigan — The third show in the Beers at the Bridge series, which is a summertime tradition in Ada, has been canceled due to the likelihood of severe weather.

According to the Ada Township Downtown Development Authority, Kari Lynch's Friday, Aug. 16 concert at Legacy Park is canceled.

Officials said the risk for severe weather includes various storms throughout the day on Friday with possible lightning, thunder and high wind gusts.

The decision to cancel the show wasn't made lightly.

The DDA said they had a detailed weather briefing with the National Weather Service and consultations with the community policing officer, fire chief and Kent County Emergency Management.

"Given the unfavorable weather conditions and the Township's limited ability to wait out any storm and bring together the event last minute, we feel that cancellation is the best option," the DDA said in a Facebook post.

The DDA said there was no rain date set for the concert, so it won't be rescheduled.

"We want to extend our deepest gratitude to our sponsors, volunteers, staff and the entire community," said the DDA in the Facebook post. "Your hard work, support, and dedication have been invaluable in planning this event, and while we won’t be able to celebrate together this time, your efforts are sincerely appreciated."
