Blandford Nature Center offering free admission throughout April

Beginning Monday, April 1, you will have access to miles of trails on the nature center's property for free.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Spring is finally back in West Michigan! If you're looking to get outdoors, the Blandford Nature Center is offering free admission throughout the month of April.

Beginning Monday, April 1, you will have access to eight miles of trails on the nature center's property for free. Admission also includes the Blandford Farm, the Children's Garden and admission to see the wildlife ambassadors inside the visitor center.

"The grounds at Blandford offer so much for visitors of all ages, and we invite the community out to come experience our local nature center during this month,” said Matt Cook, Vice President of Community Relations at Lake Michigan Credit Union, which is sponsoring the free admission.

The nature center also offers ADA-accessible trails, accessibility tools and backpacks full of activities for kids that can be checked out for free.

In addition to free admission, there will be complimentary programming throughout April. This includes a sensory-friendly night that boasts animal encounters, activities and crafts.

The Mary Jane Dockeray Visitor Center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and Blandford's trails are open from dawn until dusk. To learn more about everything the Blandford Nature Center has to offer, click here.
