GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — BluePearl Pet Hospital will be expanding by moving to a state-of-the-art facility this month.

The new facility, located at 2500 East Paris Avenue SE, will nearly double the hospital's size. The original location was about 16,000 square feet, and the new facility is about 29,000 square feet.

There will also be updated equipment like new X-ray, MRI and computed tomography (CT) machines, as well as equipment to perform endoscopy and arthroscopy. Staff say this will ensure pets are receiving up-to-date care and treatments.

“Our new hospital will allow us to provide industry-leading specialty and emergency veterinary care to more pets in the Grand Rapids area,” said Christine Swanson, DVM, DACVIM, medical director at BluePearl Grand Rapids. “We are so proud to be part of this community and to make this investment in Grand Rapids. We want all pet owners in the local area to know, if and when you need us, we are here, and our passionate team is ready to help.”

Currently, 71 employees work at BluePearl. Those employees will transfer to the new location—and BluePearl is also hiring for some other positions.

“We have the same team of incredible, passionate associates, who can now operate from a much larger space and with upgraded equipment, allowing them to see more pets, more quickly. We know pet owners in Grand Rapids will continue to receive the same standard of exceptional care, in a state-of-the-art hospital that our team is proud to call home,” said Da Chang, chief operating officer at BluePearl.

The new BluePearl location opens on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
