FERRYSBURG, Mich. — Crews from several West Michigan fire departments were called in to assist in battling a house fire along the Lake Michigan shoreline early Saturday morning.

The house fire call came in around 2 a.m. at a home in the 19000 block of North Shore Drive in Ferrysburg, near Crosstown Lane.

Dispatch confirmed that everyone made it out of the home safely.

Several fire departments were called to either assist in fighting the fire or cover for fire departments battling the blaze.

It took firefighters a little more than 3 hours to get the flames and hot spots under control.

Dispatch said because of the fire trucks that will continue to be in the area, the public should avoid North Shore Drive on Saturday morning.

Fire investigators have not released the cause of the fire as of early Saturday morning.
