CUTLERVILLE, Mich. — A man is in custody after shooting another man in the stomach with a flare gun on Sunday afternoon, according to the Kent County Sheriff's Office.
KCSO said around 12:20 p.m. deputies were called to the area of Aztec Drive and S Division Avenue for a shooting.
Deputies said the preliminary investigation shows that there was a fight between a 54-year-old Byron Township man and a 41-year-old Grand Rapids man. During the altercation, the Byron Township man shot the Grand Rapids man in the stomach with a flare gun.
The Grand Rapids man had minor injuries and went to a local hospital for treatment, KCSO said.
Deputies said the Byron Township man was arrested and the case will be reviewed by the Kent County Prosecutor's Office.
