BARRY COUNTY, Mich. — A 21-year-old Caledonia woman died in a crash on Saturday morning at the intersection of Patterson and 140th Avenue in Thornapple Township.
According to Michigan State Police, troopers from the Wayland Post were dispatched to a two-vehicle traffic crash around 10:20 a.m.
Following an investigation, troopers say a 19-year-old man in an Audi was traveling westbound on 140th Avenue before stopping at the stop sign at the intersection of Patterson and 140th Avenue and then driving through it.
According to troopers, he didn't yield the right of way to a Jeep, driven by a 31-year-old woman, headed south on Patterson Road. They say the Jeep was unable to avoid the Audi and crashed.
A 21-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Audi was taken to the hospital for critical injuries, which she died from, MSP said.
Troopers said alcohol and drugs were not involved in the crash.
