GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — You've heard about pairing wine with cheese, but what about the perfect cocktail to pair with a movie? Long Road Distillers and Celebration Cinema are partnering to offer just that.

Called the Canned Film Series, moviegoers can enjoy classic movies while sipping a canned cocktail from Long Road Distillers each week. The drinks were chosen to partner perfectly with the movie.

"We're thrilled to bring our craft cocktails to the big screen with Celebration Cinema,” said Kyle VanStrien with Long Road Distillers. “This partnership allows us to share the Long Road experience in a new way. It’s all about celebrating community, creativity, and great taste.”

Here's what you can expect each week:

  • Sept. 18 — Bridesmaids | Lavender Lemonade
  • Sept. 25 — Dumb & Dumber | Michigin & Soda
  • Oct. 2 — Casablanca | Rosemary Gin Fizz
  • Oct. 9 — Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban | The Polish Falcon
  • Oct. 16 — Jaws | Lake & Valley Lemonade
  • Oct. 23 — Dirty Dancing | Nitro Espresso Martini
  • Oct. 30 — IT | Scandinavian Daiquiri
  • Nov. 6 — Planes, Trains, & Automobiles | Cranberry Fizz

“Our team is a fan of Long Road Distillers. It’s cool to be part of their launch of canned cocktails," said Emily Loeks with Studio C. "The Canned Film Series is going to be a great night out for friends and neighbors in our community.”

Participating theaters include Celebration North and Studio Park in Grand Rapids, Cinema Carousel in Muskegon, Studio C Meridian Mall in Okemos and Celebration Cinema locations in Portage, Mount Pleasant and Benton Harbor.

The eight-week series will be held every Wednesday beginning Sept. 18. Movie tickets are just $6 and the special drinks will be for sale in the auditorium. There will also be a raffle with different movie-themed goodies.
