KENT COUNTY, Mich. — Starting Monday, June 24, for the first time, kids in Cannon Township have a fun way to explore the area and score some free ice cream.
It’s called Youth, Summer Lingo, Bingo.
You can print off your bingo cards here. There will also be a copy included with your Cannon Township tax bills, set to be delivered Friday, June 28.
You know the game.
The idea is to complete as many boxes as possible with options like “Visit a Cannon Township park” or “Support a small business in Cannon Township.” One box even says you can “Help a turtle cross the road” while warning you to watch out for snappers.
Cy Balk is a Cannon Township Board of Trustees member. He told 13 ON YOUR SIDE, “We decided to do it just to get kids involved in the township and it’s something to do during the summer months just to enjoy Cannon Township and all the beauty it has. Cannon Township is very proud of the parks that we have here, one of which is our trail system, and we also have pickleball courts. That’s two different squares to play a game of pickleball with your family or ride the trail or walk the trail.”
You must be 18 or younger to participate.
Once you get five boxes in a row, you can take your bingo card to the Cannon Township Fire Department on Belding Road where you’ll receive a voucher for a free small cone from the Cowlicks Ice Cream Shoppe in Rockford.
