GRAND HAVEN, Mich. — The 100th Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival continues to be a hit for people of all ages halfway through the milestone event.
Brandon Redeker has been attending the festival since he was a child. Now, he and his wife bring their two boys.
"No matter what you want to do, you can find it here this week," he told 13 ON YOUR SIDE.
Coast Guardsmen Dylan King and Jacob Baerresen are enjoying their first ever time at the longtime festival.
Baerresen said, "seeing everybody out and just being appreciative is really nice, it's been really cool."
King added, "it's the first place where people actually know that we exist that I've been to, other than basic training, so that was kind of nice."
They said the interest in the Coast Guard from people young and old is really special.
On Friday, there's a drone show followed by the big parade on Saturday morning.
Festival Board Member Bill Latta said, "probably largest we've had in years, we have 113 entries, it's going to be led by the Budweiser Clydesdales this year, we're very, very excited about that, we have 12 different bands."
On Saturday on top of another concert is a fireworks, drone and musical fountain show starting at dusk.
