It's the highest rank for a Boy Scout and Wednesday dozens of Eagle Scouts were honored in Grand Rapids.

A Building Character celebration for them was held at the J.W. Marriott. All the Eagle Scouts are from the President Ford Field Service Council which serves 30 counties of Northern and Western Michigan.

It's a celebration of all the hard work the scouts have shown over several years to get the high award.

"It's just an exciting thing to see these young people, many of whom are 16, 17, 18 years of age, just about to head out to more advanced schooling, or to get into the workforce," said Aaron Gach Scout Excutive CEO. "These are the people who in a very, very short time will be the leaders of our community, our nation, and it's exciting to see this as kind of a launchpad."

Jack Harbaugh, the father of Michigan Football coach Jim Harbaugh and Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh, was the keynote speaker at the event.
