COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. — A high school student riding on the hood of a moving car was injured after falling, the Kent County Sheriff's Office confirms.
It happened Tuesday afternoon around 4 p.m. at Comstock Park High School, deputies say.
Investigators say a 17-year-old student was driving through the high school's parking lot with another 17-year-old student lying on the hood. When the vehicle turned, the student fell onto the pavement and was minorly injured.
"We are thankful that no one was seriously hurt," said Sgt. Kailey Gilbert with the Sheriff's Office.
"This accident provides an opportunity for parents to have crucial conversations with their teenagers about how they are entrusted with making responsible decisions while driving," she said.
