Several goats killed in Coopersville barn fire

The daughter of the homeowner told 13 ON YOUR SIDE that their horses and a majority of their goats were able to get out safely, but some goats were killed.

COOPERSVILLE, Mich. — An early morning fire destroyed a barn in Coopersville Wednesday, killing some goats.

The barn is in the 3000 block of Arthur Street East. The daughter of the homeowner told 13 ON YOUR SIDE that their horses and a majority of their goats were able to get out safely, but some goats were killed.

An exact number of animals killed in the fire is unclear.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
