Couple works to fulfill their dream opening dog daycare in Cedar Springs

CEDAR SPRINGS, Mich. — A new business will soon make Cedar Springs its home. On Tuesday morning, ground was broken during a special ceremony, bringing one couples dreams of caring for dogs one step closer to reality.

Aaron and Vera Lenartz are the future owners of Petz-Prefurred, a dog daycare, boarding facility and spa.

13 ON YOUR SIDE was in Cedar Springs on Tuesday for the groundbreaking of their facility that will focus more on ambiance rather than a quick in and out daycare facility.

Vera said they want to also focus on dogs that may be nervous around others, giving them special one on one care if needed.

She and her husband said opening up this business has been a goal of hers for a very long time.

"You know, we worked really hard for it, so we wanted to be successful," said Vera. "We want to provide good care, and we want to be big in the community. So this is, this is our life dream."

"We really, truly have a passion for animals," said Aaron. "We really love them as our own, even if they're not, and we just really want to have this community get to know us and us to again be involved in the community."

The couple is hoping to open up later this fall or winter at 14175 Edgerton Ave NE, Cedar Springs, MI.
