GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Move over, Beer City USA, it's time for mead to shine.
Arktos Meadery, located at 442 Bridge Street NW, is unveiling a new addition. They're now offering food alongside their classic boozy offerings.
Staff say their whimsical décor and mystical artifacts will pair well with their new food menu, to make what they call "flavor magic."
Mead is an alcoholic drink made from fermented honey and has a deep European history. While not as popular as beer and wine, mead has a loyal following all the same.
Arktos' chef, Surge, is a Las Vegas magician turned cook. Their menu includes Polish, German and American Delicatessen dishes.
Still, their star of the show is their mead. They offer traditional Polish meads along with coffee and fruit-infused flavors.
"We're over the moon to unveil our new kitchen and food menu," said Maciej Hazelwood, the owner of Arktos Meadery. "Our aim is to offer a fantastical experience that combines the mystical allure of meads with an ever-changing menu inspired by both seasons and traditional plates. We invite you to join us on our culinary journey."
Arktos' kitchen is now open. You can visit their dining room 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. during the week, and later on Fridays and Saturdays.
