Starting this holiday season, Crane's offering drive-thru light show

It's a project two years in the making for staff and the Crane's family, who made all the props for the one-mile show themselves.

FENNVILLE, Mich. — With the weather getting colder, Crane Orchards in Allegan County usually prepares to close their doors for the season. But not this year.

For the first time ever, the beloved West Michigan orchard is opening a drive-thru holiday light show on their grounds. Staff say they've been working on this project for two years.

The show begins Nov. 29 and lasts all the way through New Year's Eve.

Shows will go on from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. From Friday to Sunday, they'll be open 6 to 10. Crane's is closed Monday and Tuesday after Oct. 28.

For cars with eight or under passengers, tickets cost $20. Nine and above is $25.

The drive is a mile long and the orchard is lit with holiday lights, décor and props. Every prop is handmade by staff and the Crane's family, who still own and operate the orchard. They call themselves Santa's helpers.

"A lot of love has been poured into creating a special experience for our guests," shared Crane's on Facebook.  "We can’t wait to share this with you, and look forward to seeing you this winter at our orchard!"
