NORTON SHORES, Mich. — Norton Shores Fire Department responded to a house fire Monday evening on Valk Street, off of E. Cleveland Avenue.
The fire started outside of the house and spread inside. Fire crews were on scene until about midnight. Norton Shores Fire Lieutenant Ben Chartier said it took about an hour to get the fire under control. "We had two interior crews, inside the house at the time; plus we had one support person, outside, for our relief when we came out".
Lt. Chartier said everyone was evacuated from the home. Two rooms, towards the back of the house, and the attic were damaged. Investigators are still working to find out what caused the fire.
