NORTH MUSKEGON, Mich. — David Silva, who lives in North Muskegon, is one of the tens of thousands who lost power on Halloween.
"I've never quite seen a winter storm like this," said Silva. "That is, I mean, it's dropped so many limbs and so many trees"
After more than 48 hours, the electricity started to come back on in his neighborhood.
Throughout North Muskegon, additional crews have been working around the clock to get the power back up.
"I've probably seen 25 or so, you know, units out there that are trying to get everything back together," said Silva.
Chris Laird, Vice President of Electric Operations at Consumers Energy, said it's been a busy couple of days.
"We've got more than 500 line workers in Muskegon county right now working to make sure that we continue to safely restore power as well as over 130 forestry crews."
While crews are still in Muskegon County, Laird asks for patience as they continue to wrap up.
"I just want to say thank you. I know that it's hard when people lose power, they work through that I really appreciate the patience as we work through this kind of unusual event," said Laird.
