SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. — One person is dead after a two-car crash near South Haven Monday morning on M-43 near 65th Street in Geneva Twp.

South Haven Area Emergency Services said they responded to the crash at 5:15 a.m.

Their investigation leads them to believe that one car struck a deer, crossed over the center line and hit another vehicle that was coming from the other direction head-on.

The other driver was taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance.

Michigan State Police and the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office are investigating the accident.
