GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan — A man was found dead in a parked car in Grand Rapids in September. Detectives need your help to solve his murder.
Officers were called to the 1100 block of Fremont Avenue NW just before 8 a.m. on Sept. 16 on reports of a person with blood on themselves in the front seat of a car. The man was declared dead at the scene.
That man was later identified as Malik Moore, who was 29 years old. His death was ruled as a homicide.
Officers are asking for the community's help with any possible leads on the incident. They believe he was killed sometime late in the night Tuesday, Sept. 15 or early in the morning on Wednesday, Sept. 16.
They also believe someone may have seen something that could be important to their investigation.
“Since Malik’s body was not discovered until around 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, it’s possible someone saw or heard something and didn’t realize it could be important to the actual time frame of the murder, which was several hours prior,” said Detective Damon Lange. “We are asking anyone who may have information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to contact GRPD or Silent Observer. Help us get justice for Malik and closure for his family and loved ones.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Grand Rapids Police Department at 616-456-3380 or Silent Observer at 616-774-2345 or www.silentobserver.org.
