Detroit police said 4-month-old A'miyah Jones was taken by her father, JaQuan Jones, 24, at gunpoint on Dec. 24, 2018.

Detroit police are searching for a baby girl whose father took her from her mother at gunpoint on Christmas Eve.

Police said JaQuan Jones, 24, and his twin brother burst into a home on the 900 block of Webb on the city's west side, where 4-month-old A'miyah Jones and her 22-year-old mother were visiting a relative. It happened at about 2 p.m.

"Once inside, the suspect produced a weapon then took the baby from her mother at gunpoint and left in an unknown direction," Detroit police said in a news release.

Police believe Jones is driving a blue Chrysler 200.

Anyone who has seen A'miyah or JaQuan Jones is asked to call the Detroit Police Department's Third Precinct at 313-596-1300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAKUP.
