KENT CITY, Michigan — A Dollar General location in West Michigan is getting an upgrade.
The store at 480 W Muskegon Street in Kent City was recently remodeled. Now, it offers fresh produce.
Their produce selection will include the top 20 items typically sold in traditional grocery stores and cover around 80% of produce categories.
Staff said customers can expect tomatoes, onions, apples, strawberries, potatoes, sweet potatoes, lemons, limes, salad mixes and more. This is in addition to their frozen and refrigerated offerings.
“At Dollar General, we strive to be a positive business partner and good community neighbor in Kent City,” said Matthew Simonsen, Dollar General’s senior vice president of real estate and store development. “Although we are not a grocery store, we believe the addition of produce in our Kent City store highlights our commitment to deliver a pleasant shopping experience that includes affordable prices on quality products in a convenient location.”
As of March 2024, fresh produce was in more than 5,400 Dollar General locations across the country.
