DOORBUSTER | Car crashes into doors of JCPenney at Woodland Mall

Dispatch reported there were no injuries after the car crashed into the building Monday night.

KENTWOOD, Mich. — Kent County dispatch said Monday night they received a call about a car that had crashed into the JCPenney at Woodland Mall.

The call came in at 8:27 p.m., the car had crashed through the doors to the store. Dispatch said that there were no injuries.

The mall quickly released a statement about the incident:

"We are grateful for the quick response of the Kentwood Police Department. We are actively working with the store to gather additional information so we can better understand what happened."

13 ON YOUR SIDE reached out to the Kentwood Police Department to learn more about what led up to the crash.

Captain Tim Wierenga said no items were taken from the store and the person was taken to the hospital after the wreck. 

 The crash investigation is ongoing.
