GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A man was killed early Wednesday morning when he attempted to cross the East Beltline and was hit by a car.
The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. on southbound East Beltline at Leonard Street. Life saving measures were attempted after the man was hit, but police say he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and is working with police.
A portion of the Beltline was closed for several hours. It has since reopened.
