Evart motorcyclist killed after deer causes him to veer off road

The motorcyclist was traveling eastbound when he swerved to miss a deer in the road, causing the motorcycle to leave the road and crash.

MECOSTA COUNTY, Mich. — A motorcyclist was killed Sunday evening after a deer in the road caused him to crash.

Deputies say the crash happened around 5:15 p.m. in the intersection of 20 Mile Road and 80th Avenue in Mecosta County. The motorcyclist was traveling eastbound when he swerved to miss a deer in the road, causing the motorcycle to leave the road and crash.

The man, identified as 32-year-old Dustin Hyden, of Evart, was taken to a hospital for treatment. Deputies say he later died from his injuries.

Multiple agencies responded to the scene of this crash.
